Summary

A Threshold Editions book。 Threshold Editions has a great book for every reader。 Among the Trump era's savviest insiders, one name stands especially tall: Kellyanne。

As a highly respected pollster for corporate and Republican clients and a frequent television talk show guest, Kellyanne Conway had already established herself as one of the brightest lights on the national political scene when Donald Trump asked her to run his presidential campaign。 She agreed, delivering him to the White House, becoming the first woman in American history to manage a winning presidential campaign, and changing the American landscape forever。 Who she is, how she did it, and who tried to stop her is a fascinating story of personal triumph and political intrigue that has never been told。。。until now。

In Here's The Deal, Kellyanne takes you on a journey all the way to the White House and beyond with her trademark sharp wit, raw honesty, and level eye。 It's all here: what it's like to be dissected on national television。 How to outsmart the media mob。 How to outclass the crazy critics。 How to survive and succeed male-dominated industries。 What happens when the perils of social media really hit home。 And what happens when the divisions across the country start playing out in one's own family。 In this open and vulnerable account, Kellyanne turns the camera on herself。 What she has to share-about our politics, about the media, about her time in the White House, and about her personal journey-is an astonishing glimpse of visibility and vulnerability, of professional and personal highs and lows, and ultimately, of triumph and joy。

A story of a strong independent woman who wasn’t afraid to lead in a “man’s” world。 She tells the story with facts-not fake news。 Highly encourage everyone to read it-and don’t read it as a member of a Political party-but as a seeker of hope!

Enjoyed the first part of the book about building her business and running the 2016 campaign, but would have liked more insights into President Trump and other major White House players。 Also left many questions unanswered about her husband's transition from Trump fan to TDS-suffering tweeter。 Enjoyed the first part of the book about building her business and running the 2016 campaign, but would have liked more insights into President Trump and other major White House players。 Also left many questions unanswered about her husband's transition from Trump fan to TDS-suffering tweeter。 。。。more

Great book。 Kellyanne Conway is an amazing woman。 She is the epitome of what a feminist should be in my opinion。 She laudes professional women and their accomplishments without skipping a beat about their politics or religious beliefs。 She comes off both on air as well as in her book as a gracious, decent individual。 She is the first woman to run a winning presidential campaign and all she got was grief because it was for Donald Trump。 I have zero respect for "women's groups" because they don't Great book。 Kellyanne Conway is an amazing woman。 She is the epitome of what a feminist should be in my opinion。 She laudes professional women and their accomplishments without skipping a beat about their politics or religious beliefs。 She comes off both on air as well as in her book as a gracious, decent individual。 She is the first woman to run a winning presidential campaign and all she got was grief because it was for Donald Trump。 I have zero respect for "women's groups" because they don't defend ALL women, only the ones that support the left ideology。 Those groups never defended her, Palin, Bachman, Kelley or countless other conservative women。 Her husband and daughter turned on her politically and she continue to act with poise and maintained her composure even during hatchet jobs by activists posing as journalists。 These very same activists turn around now and give softball questions to their party administration。 In her book, she praises Donald Trump but has no qualms going after his son-in-law or others in the administration。 I learned a lot about her and about DJT。 As I stated before she seems gracious and very humble。 I would love to see her step up to an elected role。 One of the most memorable lines from the book for me was "Hate corrodes the container in which it lives"。 I read some negative reviews of this book but after reading it, I can see it was by people upset that she did not confirm their fallacy of the orange boogeyman。 。。。more

A Must ReadI've read several books based on the Trump White House this one is the best I depth look at the successful 2016 campaign and the less successful 2020 campaign。 It pulls no punches and like Kellyanne is straight to the point, informative, & insiteful。 I really enjoyed the read and wish her all of the best in her future endeavors。 Who knows we might see her surface again in 2024。 A Must ReadI've read several books based on the Trump White House this one is the best I depth look at the successful 2016 campaign and the less successful 2020 campaign。 It pulls no punches and like Kellyanne is straight to the point, informative, & insiteful。 I really enjoyed the read and wish her all of the best in her future endeavors。 Who knows we might see her surface again in 2024。 。。。more

Based on reading an extract, this is 100% not "the deal。" But former Trump staffers have to cash in somehow, seeing as how they're all unemployable now, except perhaps by one another。 This is just her cashing in and scoring a few points against her "enemies"。 Just like all the rest of "the very best people。"Just cut her a check and save a tree。 Based on reading an extract, this is 100% not "the deal。" But former Trump staffers have to cash in somehow, seeing as how they're all unemployable now, except perhaps by one another。 This is just her cashing in and scoring a few points against her "enemies"。 Just like all the rest of "the very best people。"Just cut her a check and save a tree。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book, and I don't regret reading it。 I thought it was rather long, but that's just my short attention span creating a problem for me。 The book looks at Conway's life generally, and it focuses in specifically on her years serving with Donald Trump。 Much of the information here is interesting and informative。 As far as I'm concerned, she keeps her promise which is that she wanted to create a book that is not a tell-all bore-most。 I suspect there is a great deal of detail she left ou I enjoyed this book, and I don't regret reading it。 I thought it was rather long, but that's just my short attention span creating a problem for me。 The book looks at Conway's life generally, and it focuses in specifically on her years serving with Donald Trump。 Much of the information here is interesting and informative。 As far as I'm concerned, she keeps her promise which is that she wanted to create a book that is not a tell-all bore-most。 I suspect there is a great deal of detail she left out about people whose lives she could have ruined。 And quite frankly, I wasn't bored。The forthright, thoughtful manner in which she handled what appears to be the dissolution of her marriage was worth reading。 It fascinated me to watch the changes in her husband from her point of view。 None of us aside from the husband will ever know precisely what happened and why。 He did seem to develop a real love for fame, glamor, and glitter。 I sided with her most emphatically when she wrote about the horror her teenage daughter experienced when irresponsible journalists from places like “the Washington Post” began paying attention to the teenage girl's tweets or TikTok entries or whatever they were。 The 35-year-old woman who paid the most attention to the 15-year-old Conway daughter was irresponsibly manipulative and by every measure creepy! I was appalled for both parents。 The father ought to have done more than he did it appears, and I'm not sure what more the mother could have done to shield the girl from the rapacious "Post" reporter。Recognizing that there would be plenty of passages in which Conway praised the great trump, I got through those without much difficulty。 I don't share the extreme hatred that apparently most Americans feel for the guy。 But nor do I share the messianic love that a great many of them seem to have。 I think I could be objective enough to be open minded about her perspective on the former president, and that got me through the book just fine。I sped the narrator's voice to 2。7X。 Granted, that meant I had to really lean into the book and concentrate on it, but I think that actually helped me get through it and not feel as though I wandered lost among its pages。 This author seems to have no problem coming up with things to say。 When you crank her to 2。7X, it's almost entertaining。 Still, I understood every syllable。 And quite truthfully, if you have to listen to Kellyanne Conway for 19 hours, you probably want to crank her to at least 2。7X。 My heart-felt thanks goes to those who created the Libby app and enabled me to fine-tune the playing speed。 Had I been forced to play this at normal speed, I would never have downloaded it。 。。。more

I found this extremely interesting as well as a little repetitive in some parts。 And Conway takes the gloves off (and rightfully so) when she addresses the way journalists treated her teenage daughter。 I've also read Huma Abedin's book, and found that parts of Conway's and Abedin's books have some overlap。 Very interesting to see how each view the same event。。。。somewhere in the middle lies the truth。 And I knew nothing about her husband's change in feelings toward Trump。 I'm pretty sure that thi I found this extremely interesting as well as a little repetitive in some parts。 And Conway takes the gloves off (and rightfully so) when she addresses the way journalists treated her teenage daughter。 I've also read Huma Abedin's book, and found that parts of Conway's and Abedin's books have some overlap。 Very interesting to see how each view the same event。。。。somewhere in the middle lies the truth。 And I knew nothing about her husband's change in feelings toward Trump。 I'm pretty sure that this book may seal the deal as far as a divorce goes。 。。。more

I chose Kellyanne Conway's audio book which was Kellyanne herself。 I was knocked out by the behind the scenes, her life from the beginning and what influenced her。 I'll let you all read that yourself to see what makes Kellyanne a remarkable person。 Even in the Whitehouse the backstabbing was discussed。 Some of her conversations were pure joy and some with her co-workers not so kind。 She even gave insight into President Trump, his wife, and mentions of his children most of which made them more in I chose Kellyanne Conway's audio book which was Kellyanne herself。 I was knocked out by the behind the scenes, her life from the beginning and what influenced her。 I'll let you all read that yourself to see what makes Kellyanne a remarkable person。 Even in the Whitehouse the backstabbing was discussed。 Some of her conversations were pure joy and some with her co-workers not so kind。 She even gave insight into President Trump, his wife, and mentions of his children most of which made them more inpressive。I would recommend her book to everyone that has an open mind and may or not be a Trump supporter。 The book is Kellyanne's memoir。 I'm going to look into some reviews to see what others thought although it will not change my feelings after hearing her book。 All the best to her and her family and the future。 。。。more

Kellyanne Conway, manager of President Trump’s 2016 campaign and advisor to him during his presidency, is certainly a familiar name and face to me。 A friend got her new book, “Here’s the Deal,” and asked if I would like to read it。 Sure!Kellyanne and I are within two years of each other in age, so I could relate to much of her growing up; she was a super fast blueberry picker (for me, it was strawberries), and even was named blueberry princess one year in her native New Jersey。 Her upbringing ta Kellyanne Conway, manager of President Trump’s 2016 campaign and advisor to him during his presidency, is certainly a familiar name and face to me。 A friend got her new book, “Here’s the Deal,” and asked if I would like to read it。 Sure!Kellyanne and I are within two years of each other in age, so I could relate to much of her growing up; she was a super fast blueberry picker (for me, it was strawberries), and even was named blueberry princess one year in her native New Jersey。 Her upbringing taught her “No matter how much or how little we had, I learned early on that what mattered was to give more than you take and to work harder than everyone else。”Raised by her mother and other talkative female relatives, Kellyanne learned that “if I could keep my wits about me at our raucous dinner table, how hard could a TV studio be?” She became a lawyer and then started her own polling company, getting involved in political campaigns。 She married attorney George Conway, and within a few years they had four children。 She worked mainly in New York, he in Washington DC。 At one point she mentions George saying, “I could take a job in George W。 Bush’s administration。” Later, when Trump was president, “we expected George would have a presidential nomination to a coveted administration position, since he wanted one and the president was happy to oblige。” Throughout this book, I was amazed at all the connections this couple had, and I’m sure they’re not the only ones。 Imagine just thinking, “Hmm, I think I’d take a job with the president,” making a call or two, and that actually happening?! There is a whole other class of people out there, and it kind of amazes me that they end up making all the big decisions for the rest of us, who aren’t necessarily any less than they are, intellectually or otherwise。When in New York, George and Kellyanne lived in a Trump World Tower condo, where Kellyanne served on the board。 That’s how she met Donald Trump, and later how she began to work for him。 Another of Kellyanne’s clients was Indiana governor Mike Pence。 She recommended Pence to Trump as a good VP choice。 Again — I was amazed at how the connections game works with the politically elite。I found it really interesting to read about the Trump campaign and presidency from the insider’s view that Kellyanne had。 But many times while reading, I had flashbacks to medieval times。 Just as back then, being too close to the King could end up getting you killed, these days the jealousy and backstabbing among staffers is rampant。 I wanted to like Kellyanne, and in some ways I did, but she did an awful lot of bragging about herself。 “Kellyanne,” she quotes Pence as saying, “none of us would be here without you。” She later names herself “the president’s most effective spokesperson。” She tells us about a compliment she received from Bill Clinton: “Young lady, you did a really great job” (on the campaign that defeated his wife)。 When the outfit she wore for Inauguration Day was criticized, she hit back: “Sorry to offend the black-stretch-pants-wearing women of America with a little color。 I apologize to everybody out there who no longer wears anything that zips, buttons, or snaps for having a little class on an Inauguration Day。” Ouch?!Despite all this praise, Kellyanne isn’t shy about letting us know who she likes (and more notably, doesn’t)。 She is fond of Donald and Melania Trump, but can’t stand Jared Kushner or the leaders of Trump’s 2020 campaign (she infers that his loss is at least in part due to the team, that wasn’t nearly as good as she was)。 “For as long as I could remember, I’d been manhandling jealous little boys。”But as Kellyanne was spending long days immersed in Washington DC intrigue, things were not going so well in her home。 Like most people, I’d heard a bit about her husband speaking out (and tweeting out) things diametrically opposed to President Trump, while Kellyanne was a Trump employee。 That seemed odd, and the book doesn’t shed much light on why this happened。 She claims to be just as mystified as anyone as to why her formerly-conservative husband, who didn’t use Twitter, all of the sudden decided to put out hundreds of tweets daily deriding her employer。 “Exactly how, when, and why George shifted the weight of his daily life from its off-line moorings to a parallel online universe remains a mystery to the woman who knows him best。” I kept wondering why she didn’t just ask him! I get the idea that the couple really didn’t spend much time together, which I guess could make sense with two high-powered careers。 Still …The wheels seemed to be coming off with the Conway kids as well, at least with the oldest daughter, Claudia。 Things seemed to go south with her beginning in the summer of 2020, when she latched onto the BLM movement。 She started her own Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram accounts, and was thrilled to see her numbers there soar the more outrageous her behavior became。 I checked out her twitter, and it’s indeed (to me) horrifying, full of her making obscene gestures and using profane language, dressed in tiny short shorts unzipped to show her underwear, etc。 “I finally got my fame!” she excitedly told her mom。 “I’m trending! I’m not taking it down!” Claudia was 15 at the time。Here’s where things get dicey as a parent, in my opinion。 Sure, you love your kids no matter what。 But … even as a parent, could you be proud of such behavior? I’d have a tough time with that。 Kellyanne, though, doesn’t seem to。 She views Claudia’s TikTok account as a platform where she can “project a level of maturity beyond her years。” Um, really??! A quick internet search will reveal Claudia’s current activities。 She is at odds with her parents in presumably almost every way。Kellyanne ended up leaving the White House shortly after the BLM summer of 2020, I am assuming mostly due to the turmoil she faced at home。 It was sad to me to see how her many hours of high-powered career seemingly destroyed her home life。 I know — not everyone is cut out to be a stay-at-home mom。 But I had to wonder whether the Claudia we see now is the same one we’d see if she’d had an upbringing with more consistent, present parenting。Here’s the Deal is a fascinating look inside a presidential campaigner’s life。 。。。more

Conway is definitely extremely confident。 Interesting she used these pages to muse about her marriage rather than the inner workings of the White House。

I do not identify with her politics completely, but there is no doubt that Ms Conway is a force to be reckoned with。 This is a very well written book。 It is clearly her perspective and the objective truth perhaps lies in between her version and what we view with our own eyes。But I’m happy I read the book and glad I didn’t not ignore it like I have all the other useless tell-all books from the Trump administration。

Fake or questionable reviewers have expressed frustration that Kellyanne did not provide more ammunition to use against her。 They are really frustrated that she is providing a look at the human side of the man they've been working hard to demonize。 Instead, she shares a more personal account of her time in the White House while balancing it with a conflicting family, her account of some of the controversial moments during her service, and the moments that touched her heart。 The book is a fascina Fake or questionable reviewers have expressed frustration that Kellyanne did not provide more ammunition to use against her。 They are really frustrated that she is providing a look at the human side of the man they've been working hard to demonize。 Instead, she shares a more personal account of her time in the White House while balancing it with a conflicting family, her account of some of the controversial moments during her service, and the moments that touched her heart。 The book is a fascinating peek at what it's like to be working with the President, but it's her bio not his, so the focus is hers and told in an engaging way。 I'm grateful to Kellyanne Conway for being so open and sharing behind the scenes details with us。 The book certainly doesn't overstay its welcome and is a page-turner, probably more so for the people dedicated to tearing her down。 It helped me realize that we all go through difficult times no matter our status, especially if your work is in the hallowed halls of government。 。。。more

Some fairly insightful vignettes about life in the Trump administration。 I came away thinking that had Trump filled his posts with a few dozen more "KACs" he would have had a far more effective "swamp-draining" administration and gotten along far better with the press - although Trump Derangement Syndrome would still have been likely insurmountable。 Some fairly insightful vignettes about life in the Trump administration。 I came away thinking that had Trump filled his posts with a few dozen more "KACs" he would have had a far more effective "swamp-draining" administration and gotten along far better with the press - although Trump Derangement Syndrome would still have been likely insurmountable。 。。。more

She sure is full of herself。 Portrays herself as mama bear warrior that takes no shit。 (Except from her husband)Interesting perspective on the Trump White House。 It seems every good thing was because of her and she had no involvement in any of the missteps。 No doubt she loves her family and hates Jared。 In fact she wasn’t too fond of many co workers。 I like her less than before I read her book。

Quite a talker。 Memoir is personal more than political。 She is Catholic and raised in a home with 4 other women- all of her Mother's generation or older。 Grandma, two aunts。 Her life with her 4 kids, husband is photo opted and filled with tales of all the years。 Married in 2001- her husband turned on her and was out of the picture before the 20 year mark。 He seems like a jealous celebrity want to be。All the personalities are drama prone and loudly entwined, IMHO。 Reminds me of many large clans a Quite a talker。 Memoir is personal more than political。 She is Catholic and raised in a home with 4 other women- all of her Mother's generation or older。 Grandma, two aunts。 Her life with her 4 kids, husband is photo opted and filled with tales of all the years。 Married in 2001- her husband turned on her and was out of the picture before the 20 year mark。 He seems like a jealous celebrity want to be。All the personalities are drama prone and loudly entwined, IMHO。 Reminds me of many large clans and neighborhood starts in the last century。 Hers is New Jersey。 She's tough and highly self promoting。 And I do not think it was anything that started in 2015 either。 She is an actual accurate poll evaluator。 Right now they are nil。Too many details and too long overall, IMHO, this memoir。 The insider cabals never interest me as they do all these communications or PR lawyer types。 It seems to be their very meat。 Others love to read about the groups always plying for access。 I just don't。 Kellyanne is honest and forthright with extra information。 Here she gets repetitive at points。 She doesn't do the generalized non-answer very often。 Unlike what we presently hear daily。 For the length of the copy, I felt I knew Kellyanne。 But I don't find I would be at all apt to be so filled with peppy superlatives after being such a target for nasties。 The personal attacks even here on Goodreads are just not deserved。 She doesn't suffer fools。 Doesn't sound as if her Mother or Grandmother ever have either。 No one who has that job or any of the ones that lead to it would or could be sweet "butter wouldn't melt in my mouth" personalities。All mothers who are career women feel pulled by the opposing time elements and responsibilities。 Sometimes it makes them BETTER at both。 Do I know it。 。。。more

Interesting look at the woman who might be responsible for Trumps 2016 win。 Book gives candid insight to her experiences as most influential woman in Trump White House。 Also gives honest look at difficulties balancing motherhood with a demanding career。 She’s also honest about hurt/betrayal in her marriage。 Only thing I didn’t like is it seemed a little gossipy, self promoting and retaliatory at some points …but she’s somewhat redeemed as she seems like an overall good well intentioned person。 W Interesting look at the woman who might be responsible for Trumps 2016 win。 Book gives candid insight to her experiences as most influential woman in Trump White House。 Also gives honest look at difficulties balancing motherhood with a demanding career。 She’s also honest about hurt/betrayal in her marriage。 Only thing I didn’t like is it seemed a little gossipy, self promoting and retaliatory at some points …but she’s somewhat redeemed as she seems like an overall good well intentioned person。 What is most compelling about this book is the honest look at why Trump ultimately lost in 2020 and pandemic foibles across party lines。 I listened to audible format - she’s extremely articulate/ well spoken and conveys info in interesting style。 Regardless of party affiliation- this is an interesting read。 。。。more
